The reporters without Borders press Freedom Barometer proved that countries involved in violent conflict were dangerous places for media professionals- with 37 journalist killed in Iraq since the beginning of 2006, 3 in Sri lanka and Columbia, 2 in Afghanistan. But also the figure from countries like Mexico 7 deaths, Russia 3 the Philippines 2 showed that the lives of journalist were threatened even is state that did not have discernible war zones.
The Committee to protect Journalists (CPJ) published details about 580 journalist that were killed in the line of duty worldwide between January 1992 and August 2006.According to these data, 71,4% were murdered, 18,4% died in crossfire or in combat-related circumstances and 10% during other dangerous assignments. Print reports faced the greatest risk of death, except in few parts of the world like the Philippines and India where radio journalist and TV reporters have a higher risk of being killed.
Of all journalist working in dangerous situations .local reporters run the greatest risk of becoming victims of violence.
According to the CPJ analysis, 85% of correspondents working in war zones, but local journalist doing their work.
They were typically murder “not on assignment, but in their offices, on their commutes, or in their homes. Nine out of 10 murders, CPJ found, had the hallmarks of premeditation such as careful planning, groups of assailants, and gangland style executions.” In conflict zones and countries where press freedom is not sufficiently valued, journalist become targets or rebel groups, militias, drug traffickers, extremists or corruption politicians. While international journalist are often heavily equipped and protected, local journalists usually do not have the means to protect themselves sufficiently.
One of the objectives every safety strategies should be the provision of safety training for local journalists and development of international norms for safety training and equipment.
In times of violent conflict, the dangers journalists are exposed to are more imminent than in ordinary times.
Independent, precise and professional information is particularly vital under these circumstances. 137 journalist and media staff have been since the beginning of the Iraq war, which is the deadliest conflict for media professional since the second World war. Recent conflict in Lebanon or in
Somalia have shown that, once more, journalist working in conflict zones are particularly vulnerable, despite the fact that attacks against journalist and media equipment are illegal under international humanitarian law, which protests civilian person and objects, as long as they are not making an effective contribution to military action.
Even though media professional working in conflict zones have the status of civilians, this status and thus international humanitarian law is less and less respected be some belligerents. According to the analysis carried out by CPJ, journalist working in war zones especially reports are usually not killed by an errant bullet. In fact, they are usually murder. Crossfire in combat in just the second-leading cause of deaths, although it is the major cause of international journalists’ deaths.
Since journalists and war correspondents covering conflict do not receive a full safety guarantee by the belligerents, is the responsibility of the media institution that sends them into conflict zones to limit the risk and to provide protection, basic guarantee by the media institution that sends them into conflict zones to limit the risk and provide protection, basic guaranties and, if necessary, compensation no matter If they are salaries of freelancers, local or international journalist.
In Tanzania have safety to jourmalist but is not at all of the journalist, the arrasment are done by the journalist who are critizing the government, are being arrased, the example of the Journalist is Said Kubenea and Ndimara Ntegambwage of the local newspaper Mwanahalisi.

"A big number of Journalist in Tanzania suffer financially"
OPINION.
"This had potentially more adverse effects due to that there are ni impartial independenct media outlets in the Isles," noted the repot.
while the state-owned media were in favour of the ruling CCM, the private-owned media perfomances, were highly influenced by the nature of ownreship.
Media outlets, with the exception of few publics, were titled towards.
"I lost hope. I didn't know which way to take; I was damn broke left by all my friends. I was in total dilemma to say the list."That is hoe Joyce started her story.
She said after a year or so she received a call from one editor asking her to caome as there were vacant jobs in her media house.
"I was very relieved to get taht news. I arrieved two hours before the appointed time but was in high spiritis just waiting.
To make the story short I had to be her mistress for two consecutive days before acquiring a job asa an entertainment reporter,"she said adding that she worked as a field reporter for just four months and quitted due to reasons best known to herself.
Today, the trend in our the news room is rampant especially for young female journalist who are doing internship after completing their basic journalism courses.
There are those both female and male journalist who will write their sroties, file them to editors but they won't see one appear in the following day's paper or aired.
Apart from that there is a tendency of desoising some journalist depending on their tribes, education klevel and college background. Speaking of favouritism, some editors will help, train and send their beloved to nice follow up stories leaving you in tight spot, not knowing where to turn to.
I speak of experience, mind you. When others are shown the way like giving them source's telephone numbers, permission of vehicles, invitation letters or even be directed to events and places for news nosing, you as a misfit have to be sharp enough to follow the suite.
When it comes to payments, the story is even worse more especially for journalist that have not signed any contract neither got e,ployment. They consequently depend on brown envelope a.k.a MKUKUTA which are given to the journors once the press confrence or seminar is over. They range from 10,000/= to 50,000/= depending on the source's mammon.
In mainstream newsroom foe example, the pay for a story varies according to the prominace, relevance and magnitude of it. A short aricle or say a brief is between 1,500/=, 2,000/= and 5,000/= while the front page news aricle is paid 15,000/= and 30,000/= for the guest columnists.
The smaller the number of repoters the better chance for one's sroty to be considered for publication. Lucky are you who are few in your newsroom beacuse you are hundred per cent sure that your well writtem article will be considered by the esteemed editors and subs.
But frankly speaking, a big number of journalist in Tanzania in our day suffer financilly, thy lead a vety miserable lives particulary Kanjajanjas, the unprofessional ones.
Imagine a mere repoter working in a leading investigative media where she deals with scandalous stories and corrupt blunders regarding some big shots in the city. The young journalist is unemployed and to make matters even worse she has not even signed a contract let alone having a press card.
Suppose someone has sworn to find the reporter who has revealed his malicious act of corrupt delaing or power abuse and end the reporte's life; here Charity is without any safety to her side as her life is not enxured neither her properties
She is proceeding with attending news conferences and following stories, very is to trace her and finish her shadow.
Another challenge facing journalists are transport to and from newsroom, places looking for news like courts, police markt and when heading home.
The long queues, traffic jams, accidents and lack of fare lessen the jopurnos efficiency in their daily activities.
LAck of exposure and that of professional qualification amongst journalists also causes them to make mistakes hence becaome a laughing stock and asa a reslt shaming the profession. At times, due to un awareness the reporters and editors fallprey in defamation cases owing to ethics infringement.
Most of the times journalsts face embarrassment, hmiliation and resentment from sources.
The fosty working conditions we are in not withstanding, we will continue hapily doing our job by educating, entertaining and warning the public with the intent to see righteousness is done to all human kind.

SPORTS FEATURE ON THE MOVIES!!
The Great Debaters is the finest movie ever made about the American Dream. Which was made in 2007 December 31st by Sherwood Ross at (9:43 am).
At a time when Hollywood producers are dipping for content into the gutters of gore, director Denzel Washington has created an electrifying message of nonviolent reform that once again lifts the motion picture art to the stars.
Based on a true story set in Marshall, Texas, in 1935, Robert Eisele's screenplay captures the degradation of racial segregation as few films ever have done. Using the example of segregated Wiley College's debate team.
It shows how African-Americans had to claw their way inch by inch toward social inclusion. The team struggled for the opportunity to debate white schools and, finally, based on their incredible string of victories, to debate and to defeat Harvard while a national radio audience listened in.
In fact, Wiley debated national champion University of Southern California, and the fact that the producers put in the bunk about Harvard for dramatic impact is a cheap fabrication unworthy of the overall production.)
The Film is also a morality tale, it is very different. Its message is that there is another way; that hard work, enterprise, preparation and perseverance pays off. It shows how the system can be changed without resorting to Mafia methods.
The inspiration of Mahatma Gandhi is cited. The film's script speaks against violence in the scene where the motoring Wiley College debaters accidently come upon a lynching and are lucky to escape from the mob with their lives. (In some years, during
Yes, as it happened, Wiley's debate team had a coach that was a Communist, and one team member resigned because of it. The others debaters saw through the label to recognize that Communists are also human beings, even if they believe in a different economic approach to organizing society.
Again, Americans were so frightened of Communism they believed that if Viet- Nam went Communist, all Asia would follow. This "domino theory," of course, proved to be what college debater’s call "fallacious."
The idea that all capitalists are good and all communists are evil is simplistic beyond childishness. Maybe what "The Great Debaters" suggests is that there are two sides to every question; that no one economic system has got all the answers; that no one race and no one nation is superior, and that, over time.
What I have learn in this Picture is to learn more in our school and the country at all about Film subject and copy all good things in order to learn perfectly.
And to create in the schools more debate teams, like that of Wiley College and more think like James Farmer.
