1. This
Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project
which appeared in Development Business, Issue no. WB 320-696/07 dated January 2007
2. The
Rorya District Council has received financing from Development Partners towards
the cost of Construction of Piped water
supply System and Civil works for Kinesi, Randa and Utegi Villages in Rorya
District council and intends to apply part of the portion of the funds to
cover eligible payments under the contract for which this invitation for Bid is
issued.
3.
The
Rorya District Council now invites sealed bids from eligible and
qualified contractors to carry out Construction of Piped water supply System and Civil works for Kinesi, Randa and
Utegi Village in Rorya District council in three (3) separate Lot whereby each Lot are
independently in biding and evaluation
processes as follows:

1.Kinesi village wss sub project
i)
Construction of Ferro cement tank for RWH (5m3), 1m3 water jar and Pour Flush
Latrines for boys and girls (1 block), and provision of 2 Sim tanks of 3m3 each.
Intake works from Lake Victoria
ii)
Supply materials and construction of a
sump well, power house and a fence
iii)
Supply and installation of pumping unit
(a submersible pump) and submersible electrical motor of 30kW with associated
fittings, switch gears gad jets
iv)
Supply pipes and fittings and construction intake pipe line of 150mm
diameter,505m long (with stainless steel pipes)
v)
Supply pipes and fittings and
construction of rising main pipe 150mm diameter, 3305m long.
vi)
Supply pipes and fittings and
construction of distribution network consisting of 13,730m pipe line of
different pipe sizes and classes, 26 water points(single tapped) and one
cattle trough
vii)
Supply materials and construction of 4
storage tanks of total capacity of 500m3(225m3 &135m3
on ground and 90m3 and 45m3 on 6m raised above the ground
level)
viii)
Extend power supply line from nearest transformer to the pump
house
ix)
Construction of Ferro cement tank for RWH (5m3) and 1m3 water jar
x)
Construction of Pour
Flush Latrines for boys and girls (1 block), and provision of 2 Sim tanks of 3m3 each.

2. Randa village wss sub project
i)
Supply and install 2 submersible pump units (electrically
submersible pumps and motors), fittings, switch gears and gad jets.
ii)
Supply and install 1 electrically surface motor pump, fittings,
switch gears and gad jets.
iii) Construction of on ground Sump well – 5m3 at the booster station
iv) Installation of internal
electricity in the power house and external electricity from the nearest
transformer and Pump/power house and
fence
v)
Supply pipes and fittings and construction of rising main pipeline
50 mm diameter (63HDPE PN 10), 1,750m long (booster station), rising main pipeline
43.7mm diameter (50HDPE PN 10), 30m long (from 2boreholes to booster station)
and distribution network consisting of 14,272m pipe line, 11 water points
double tapped
vi) Supply materials and
construction of a storage tank of capacity 45m3 on ground level
and 5hand pumps development
vii) Nyabing’erere natural
spring improvement, fencing off the spring source, construction of 2 DPs
(double taps) and construction of a cattle trough.
viii) Rain water harvesting
systems construction(5m3 ferro cement tank, 1m3 water
jar), Pour Flush toilets with 2 Sim Tanks(3m3 each) for rain water
harvesting
ix) Surveying, drilling, test
pumping and development of one (1) additional borehole.

Utegi village wss sub project
i) Supply and
install 3 submersible pump units (electrically submersible pumps and motors),
fittings, switch gears and gad jets.
ii) Supply and install 1 electrically surface motor pump, fittings,
switch gears and gad jets and On ground Sump well – 5m3 at the booster station.
iii) Installation of
internal electricity in the power house and external electricity from the
nearest transformer and Construction of Pump/power house and fence
iv) Supply pipes
and fittings and construction of rising main pipeline 50 mm diameter (63HDPE
PN 10), 2,000m long (booster), rising
main pipeline 43.7mm diameter (50HDPE PN 10), 1422m long (from 3 boreholes to the booster station) and distribution
network consisting of 7,375m pipe 15 water points double tapped.
v) Supply
materials and construction of a storage tank of capacity 90m3 on
ground level and 8 hand pumps for drilling and development
vi) Rain water
harvesting systems construction(5m3 ferro cement tank, 1m3 water
jar) and Pour Flush toilets with 2 Sim Tanks(3m3) for rain water
harvesting
Surveying, drilling, test pumping and development of one (1)
additional borehole.

Bidders
are required to bid for all items and quantities in each phase and may bid both
Lots in separate envelop.
4. Bidding will be conducted through the
National competitive Bidding (NCB) procedures specified in the Public
Procurement Act, 2004 and the Public Procurement (Goods, Works, Non Consultancy
Service and Disposal of Public Assets by Tender) Regulations, 2005 – Government
Notice No. 97 and are open to all eligible bidders.
5. Interested eligible Bidders may obtain
further information from and inspect the Bidding Documents at the office of the
Secretary of the Tender Board, Rorya District Council, P.O
Box 250, Tarime – Rorya District, TANZANIA, from
8:00 am to 3:30 pm Monday to Friday inclusive except on public holidays.
6. A
complete set of Bidding Documents in English, in hard copy and additional sets
may be purchased by interested Bidders on the submission of a written
application to the address given above
